Japfa acquires remaining 15% stake in Japfa Comfeed Myanmar for $6.36m

The company now fully owns its Myanmar operations.

Japfa has acquired the remaining 15% stake in Japfa Comfeed Myanmar for $6.36m (US$5.7m), following a change in the country’s regulations which has created an opportunity for the company to fully own its Myanmar operations.

The deal was sealed Best Livestock Limited, an unrelated third party, and was arrived at on a willing-buyer, willing-seller basis.

A refundable deposit of $1.35m (US$1m) will paid on or around 2 February 2015 and the remaining $6.36m (US$4.7m) will be paid at completion, after all conditions precedent have been satisfied, the primary condition being the approval of the Myanmar Investment Commission.
