New passenger terminal at Seletar Airport will be four times bigger
It can handle 700,000 passengers a year.
The new passenger terminal at Seletar Airport is designed to accommodate around 700,000 passenger movements per annum, which will be significantly larger than the current terminal's capacity of 26,700.
Set to be completed by end-2018, the new, two-storey terminal is sited at the eastern side of Seletar Airport. It will have a gross floor area of 9,500 square metres, of which 500 square metres will be dedicated to serving business aviation passengers.
"This will support the relocation of scheduled turboprop flights from Changi Airport to Seletar Airport upon the completion of the new terminal in end-2018," said the airport operator.
The plans were announced yesterday during a groundbreaking ceremony witnessed by Khaw Boon Wan, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Minister for Transport.
