ST Aerospace renews US$60mln US Airways contract

ST Aerospace has renewed a maintenance contract with US Airways worth US$60m (S$82m) over the next three years.

The contract will cover heavy maintenance visits for US Airways’ fleet of Airbus A330 as well as its Boeing 737, 757 and 767 aircraft. The renewed contract will commence in January 2010 at ST Aerospace's Mobile facility in Alabama, US.

"Having worked with ST Aerospace for seven years, we have confidence in their high quality standards of work and reliable services. We are pleased to continue this excellent partnership." David Seymour, Senior Vice President Technical Operations, US Airways

ST Aerospace's relationship with US Airways began in 2003 with maintenance on Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft. Since then, US Airways has extended it to the other aircraft types stated above. ST Aerospace has redelivered a total of 206 aircraft to US Airways.

This contract is not expected to have any material impact on the consolidated net tangible assets per share and earnings per share of ST Engineering for the current financial year.

ST Aerospace (Singapore Technologies Aerospace Ltd) is the aerospace arm of ST Engineering and operates a global MRO network with facilities in the Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe. It is the world's largest aircraft MRO provider with a global customer base that includes leading airlines, airfreight and military operators.
