Tiger Airways Singapore carried 331,000 passengers in April

That’s a 4% increase compared to April 2011, but it’s a different story if you bring the airline’s performance in Australia into the picture.

For the month of April 2012, Tiger Airways Singapore carried 331,000 passengers compared to 318,000 in the same period in 2011. Tiger Airways Singapore increased capacity by 9% in April 2012 compared to April of last year, leading to a four percentage point decrease in its load factor to 83%.

Meanwhile Tiger Airways Australia operated at reduced capacity and on a limited schedule in April 2012, resulting in a 56% decline in the number of passengers.

In total, Tiger Airways carried 466,000 passengers in April 2012. The combined number for Singapore and Australia represented a 25% drop compared to the number of passengers in the same period in 2011.
