Tiger carried 13% less passengers in November

Tiger carried 13% less passengers in November

Load factors for Tiger Airways Singapore and Tiger Airways Australia were lower year-on-year.

The airline reported: “For the month of November 2011, Tiger Airways carried 402,000 passengers, a 13% decrease compared to the same month last year. The average load factor across Asia and Australia for the month was 78%, down from 86% in November 2010.”

Here’s more:

Tiger Airways Singapore significantly increased capacity year-on-year, including the introduction of new services to the Philippines (Cebu and Davao) and India (Bangalore), and is still in the process of building up demand on these routes.

Tiger Airways Australia operated at reduced capacity and on a limited schedule relative to November 2010, resulting in a decline in passenger numbers.

Tiger Airways Australia’s load factors continue to improve following the six week suspension from 1 July 2011 to 11 August 2011.

During the month, Tiger Airways Australia received approval from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia to increase the number of daily sectors that it can operate from 22 daily sectors to 32 daily sectors. The additional sectors are on sale and are being introduced from mid-December 2011.
