SilkAir on Thursday announced the appointment of Marvin Tan as Chief Executive of SilkAir with effect from 11 October 2010. He will be taking over from Mr Chin Yau Seng, who will return to Singapore Airlines as Divisional Vice President Cabin Crew Operations.

Mr Tan, 39, joined SilkAir as a Board Director on 1 June 2010 and is currently Divisional Vice President Customer Services for Singapore Airlines. He has been with Singapore Airlines for over 14 years and has held various positions in head office and overseas. Previous postings include Vice President Ground Services, General Manager UK & Ireland and General Manager Vietnam, according to a SilkAir report.

SilkAir Chairman Mr Goh Choon Phong thanked Mr Chin for his dedication and efforts in making SilkAir one of the leading regional carriers in Asia.
