Daily Briefing: Property market to remain at best this year; Singapore investors unfazed by Brexit

And here are 24 things you should know about investing.

From CNBC: Sentiment in the Singapore property market appears to be improving after the government eased some of its curbs on the sector, but unsold inventory will still weigh in the short-term, a DBS executive said. Speaking to CNBC's " Squawk Box ," DBS Private Bank Chief Investment Officer, Lim Say Boon, said there could be a small price rebound in the central region due to limited supply, but prices across the island will "at best" remain stable in 2017 due to corresponding demand-supply fundamentals.

From PropertyGuru: Despite the short-term implications of the UK’s Brexit vote, the country remains one of the top destinations for Singaporeans looking to invest in overseas property, according to a survey commissioned by real estate investment firm IP Global. The results revealed that the UK was the preferred investment destination for 17 percent of Singaporeans, a one percent rise from last year. Australia continues to be the number one destination for Singaporeans, up three percent from 2016, while Canada is the third favoured investment destination.

From Motley Fool Singapore: Stocks that are part of the Straits Times Index’s 30 constituents are often known as blue chips. They also tend to carry an exalted status amongst investors. But, blue chips can make for poor long-term investments. Case in point: One of Singapore’s largest property developers, City Developments Limited (SGX: C09), has delivered a return of -26% over the past 10 years even after accounting for dividends.
