Tan Guong Ching stepped down as Cambridge Industrial Trust Management's director

He is retiring at 70.

 

For reasons of succession planning and compliance with regulatory requirements, Mr. Tan retired from the Board and its various committees.

Mr. Tan initiated several major projects such as neighbourhood policing, civil defence, commissioning of the mass rapid transit system, the corporatisation of Singapore Telecommunications, and the reorganisation of the then Telecommunication Authority of Singapore. In recognition of his contributions to the Civil Service, he was awarded a Public Administration Medal (Gold) in 1991, a Long Service Medal in 1997 and a NTUC Commendation Medal in 1999. 

Mr. Tan has a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical with Dean's Honors from McMaster University in 1970 and a Master of Engineering in Chemical in 1972. He attended various management programmes including the Executive Management Programme at INSEAD in 1980 and the Advanced Management Programme at Wharton in 1998.
