Public investment growth in Thailand continues to lag

The government is lacking in specific details regarding its plans.

There have been a lot of talks about huge infrastructure projects being rolled out in early-2015, but the lack of details is increasingly frustrating according to analysts at DBS.

According to the analysts, stronger fiscal spending is crucial for GDP growth outlook going forward. Thus far, fiscal spending has not provided any material boost as yet. Public investment growth continues to lag private investment by quite a distance. Indeed, on seasonally-adjusted terms, public investment shrank in 3Q14.
