Daily Briefing: How credit scores actually affect loans; Vungle opens Singapore office

Lenders may use your credit score as a tool to assess your creditworthiness to decide if a loan should be granted.

If your credit score is in good standing, your loan may be approved faster, with higher line assignment and lower pricing.

Lenders will also take into consideration other factors such as the individual’s income, application documentations, existing banking relationship with the lender, the lender’s risk appetite, etc before extending credit to the individual. One thing to note on is, CBS does not play a part in the lender’s lending decision.

In the latest step in Vungle’s expansion throughout APAC, the performance marketing platform for in-app video ads has opened an office in Singapore.

In a media statement, Vungle revealed the Singapore office will be instrumental in driving the development, sales and marketing of the mobile platform across Southeast Asia, India, Australia and New Zealand.

Zain Jaffer, CEO of Vungle, said: “App Annie projects that APAC will outpace other regions and hit $77 billion by 2021. Based on similar reports and what we’re experiencing in the region, we know APAC is poised for significant growth.”

On Tuesday, Lian Beng Group Ltd (SGX: L03), a building construction group with integrated civil engineering and construction support service capabilities, will be going ex-dividend.

The firm is dishing out 1.25 Singapore cents per share for the fourth quarter.

For the full year ended 31 May 2017, revenue fell 36.8% year-on-year to $281.7 million, mainly due to the decrease in sales from the Construction and Ready-mixed Concrete business segments. Meanwhile, net profit declined 48.3% to S$53.2 million. This was largely due to a decline in share of results from associates and joint ventures.
