Overall manufacturing output down 4.4% in June

This is the fifth straight month of contraction.

Singapore's total manufacturing output contracted 4.4% year-on-year in June, according to data released today by the Economic Development Board (EDB).

Output fell across all clusters except for the chemicals cluster, which saw a 4.2% output growth.

Biomedical manufacturing fell 0.6%, while electronics output fell by 2.1%.

Output of the general manufacturing industries cluster also contracted 3.3% in June. Precision engineering cluster's output fell by 5%, while output of the transport engineering cluster fell 17.5%.
