Swiber secures new projects in Qatar and SE Asia for US$215m
The deals bump its order book up to US$1.2b.
The offshore company further deepens its footprint in Southeast Asia as it secures two new contracts in Myanmar and Vietnam.
According to a press release by Swiber, its Qatar deal also marks its first offshore EPCI project in the Middle East, despite ongoing oil market volatility and uncertainties in the offshore oil and gas industry.
“The Group has commenced the engineering phase of this project which is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2017,” the press release said.
Swiber said the job is for a repeat customer with whom they have worked closely on numerous projects across the globe.
“It is a testament of our proven experience and execution capabilities that the customer is once again entrusting Swiber with this project in Qatar,” said Darren Yeo, deputy group CEO of Swiber.
