Everbright Water scores Nanning river restoration project for $311m

Concession period will last for 22 years.

China Everbright Water Limited (Everbright Water) scores the Nanning Shuitang River Integrated Restoration PPP Project (Nanning PPP Project) partnership with Guangxi, China for $311m (RMB1.5b).

Everbright Water, with Nanning Jianning Water Investment Group Co., will lead a project company that will survey, design, investment, finance, and operations. It will hold around 79% of the project company's stake.

The PPP project will last for around 22 years. Business will include river training, river interception, restoration, and landscaping.

It will also include the construction and operation of a wastewater treatment plant with a designed daily treatment capacity of 40,000 tonnes.

Everbright Water executive director and CEO An Xuesong said, "Nanning PPP Project is a key project of the city’s program for the treatment of black and odorous water bodies. Everbright Water will fully synergise its resources in Central and Southern China such as Hubei and Henan Provinces, and leverage on its competitive advantages in technology and management, to build the Project into a local environmental protection benchmark and contribute towards the continuous improvement of Shuitang River’s water and ecological environment.”
