This chart from Thomson Reuters shows Singaporean companies from the financials sector tapped the bond markets and raised US$17.3b, a 16.6% increase in proceeds compared to the same period last year.
Financials captured 57.9% of the total bond proceeds issued by Singapore borrowers.
Energy & power witnessed a significant increase in proceeds, raising US$3.2b so far this year compared to only US$550.4m from last year.
Real estate also witnessed more activity raising US$2.3b, a 116.3% increase from 2016 and accounted for 7.7% market share.
