GOJEK adds DBS PayLah! to payment options

The move aims to encourage users to adopt digital payments.

As the ride-hailing arena heats up, GOJEK has partnered with DBS Bank to allow riders to pay for their fares via DBS PayLah!, an announcement revealed.

Through the integration of DBS PayLah! in the GOJEK app, customers can add the online payment platform as a preferred option after a one-time authorisation and set-up.

According to GOJEK, about 35% of its daily ride-hailing transactions are paid for in cash. “This presents an opportunity for DBS and GOJEK to encourage users – who may not own a debit or credit card and so need an alternative to cash payments – to adopt digital payments.”

Their continued partnership has also provided GOJEK’s drivers with real-time payment services. For instance, DBS IDEAL RAPID, a straight-through API solution integrated into the driver payment process, allows payouts to be deposited directly into their bank accounts.

Following the success of DBS and GOJEK’s partnership in Singapore, the two companies are exploring collaboration opportunities in Indonesia, such as cross-marketing initiatives.
