Revenue also soared 28%.

Q & M Dental Group revealed on Friday that its 2Q14 profit rose by 42% to $1.3 million from $0.9 million in 2Q13, driven by by a stronger performance from the Group’s dental and medical clinics, as well as the Group’s dental equipment and supplies distribution business.

It also posted an increase of 28% growth in revenue to $20.3 million for the quarter from $15.9m in 2Q13. Revenue from the dental and medical clinics for 2Q14 increased by 17% to $18.4m from $15.7 m for 2Q13.

This increase of $2.7 million was attributed to higher revenue from existing dental and medical clinics amounting to $1.7 million, as well as contributions from new dental and medical outlets in Singapore and Malaysia amounting to $1 million.

Revenue from Q & M’s dental equipment and supplies distribution business also rose to$1.9 million in 2Q14 from $0.2 million in 2Q13. This increase was mainly due to the Group’s acquisition of a Malaysia-based dental equipment and supplies distribution company, AR Dental Supplies in July 2013.
