MyWork links up job seekers and businesses in real-time

As of April 2017, it achieved 35,000 downloads.

MyWork Global is an integrated job platform founded in 2016 that enables businesses and job seekers to connect real-time in a safe, controlled and efficient environment.

Rebecca Chiu, CEO of MyWork Global, realised that part-timers and on-demand workers played a big role in operations. But there was no proper platform that helped in sourcing, tracking, and reviewing the people recruited.

MyWork handles the HR's needs while allowing job seekers find suitable jobs for them to earn extra income and gain experiences in different jobs.

“It seeks to solve the perennial manpower problem faced by businesses in Singapore. With the imposition of strict foreign quotas, as well as ridiculously high labour costs forming a large proportion of a business’s running costs, the app seeks to allow businesses to tap on a liquid workforce and run more lean operations, while at the same time not compromising on the operational needs of the business,” said Chiu.

The app allows business to post and fill a job opening within a matter of hours, and is recommended for firms that are seeking to benefit from a liquid workforce and lower fixed costs.

MyWork includes a jobs bank of over 250 businesses with hourly rates and wages, a reviews and ratings system with past records of job performance, a messaging feature for businesses to directly contact the job seeker and a nudge feature where notifications can be sent to highly-rated job seekers to invite them to take up a gig.

Recent improvements to the app include auto-generated pay-slips with the inclusion of employer Central Provident Fund (CPF) contribution calculations, as well as a record of the sum total of monthly payments. These additional features are a huge move towards embracing the fast-growing freelance, contract workforce, and are in line with existing Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and CPF policies.

With the evolution to the gig economy and the growing significance of the liquid workforce, the role of ad hoc workers have come into focus more than ever. MyWork’s mission is to use its technology to integrate workers and businesses responsibly and sustainably onto the gig economy.

MyWork app is available on the Apple AppStore and on Google Play.
