Monthly pay will rise by 4% to 9%.
Education officers (EOs) will enjoy fatter paychecks starting October.
The Ministry of Education said today that EOs in various General Education Officer (GEO) and Senior Education Officer (SEO) grades will receive a 4% to 9% increase in their monthly salaries. Up to 30,000 serving EOs will be eligible in this round of salary adjustments.
The MOE will also adjust the salary structure of the Education Scheme of Service. Starting October, there wil lbe a single salary structure for officers.
Previously, graduate and non-graduate classroom teachers are recruited and remunerated on separate salary structures due to the difference in their academic qualifications
MOE will also be introducing an annual Special EO Payment (SEP) for all trained EOs, which will replace the current Learning and Development Scheme (LDS). The SEP, which will be paid out each September from 2016, will be from $500 to $700 in cash, and serves as a form of recognition for EOs.
