Singapore trails regional peers in terms of workplace gender diversity

Only 27% of management positions are held by women.

Singapore is falling behind its regional counterparts such as China, Malaysia and Hong Kong when it comes to gender diversity in the workplace.

A report released by Hays ahead of the International Women’s Day on Sunday 8th March showed that only 27% of management positions in Singapore are held by women, lower than the Asian average of 29%.

Hays found that China remains the region’s diversity leader, with 36% of management roles held by women. Malaysia came as a close second at 34%, followed by Hong Kong at 31%.
