Located in the heart of Toa Payoh, in General Magnetics building, is the new office of six different marketing, media and technology companies collectively called ‘501.’

According to Vincent Ha, managing director of Gushcloud, 501 is a space designed to foster a better workplace for a millennial generation, to enabhele creative collaboration and media creation as well as to make it unique compared any other space in Singapore. As some of the companies at 501, which includes Big 3 Media, The Barnett Group, Fixx Digital, Massive Infinity, Crave FX and of course Gushcloud, are striving towards becoming the next global Media conglomerate.

Vincent said that they stick to the whole idea of bringing home and the world to their new office. And one of the unique benefits of the new space is that it allows for a variety of in-house locations for video shoots due to the different themes and settings.

“The whole space was designed to feel reminiscent of familiar spaces like libraries, cinemas, gardens and more. A twist to the concept of working from home. Eclectic mix of different styles and different functions - Allows various things types of thinking and discussion as well as easy collaboration. For example, the toy room is ideal for brainstorming with its large whiteboard wall,” said Vincent.

Vincent added that many of the furnishings were sponsored or bartered with helpful vendors like Soon Bee Huat for the beautiful tiles, Doob Bean Bags for their colourful bean bag chairs and Nippon Paint. While their Interior design and decor was done completely in-house together through collaborative meetings and crowdsourcing ideas from all the designers within the office.

“We wanted to get as many people involved as possible because we felt that our people needed to have a sense of ownership over the new space, said Vincent.

501 boasts of its themed-like hotel lobby reception area, five themed meetings rooms which includes Gush Meeting Room, The Toy Room, The Green Room, The Cinema Room, and The Book Room. Its Corridor with an upside down garden with an astroturf ceiling and inverted hanging plants, Gushcloud, Fixx and The Barnett Group open concept office, and The Pub Crawl Alley’ are just a few to mention.

In addition, Vincent himself led the design process as well as proposed the overall concept and made the initial SketchUp models. More contributed ideas came from the Big 3’s creatives who designed & decorate the hotel lobby themed reception as well as the cinema room, Crave FX designed the chalkboard wall mural, cafeteria lights were chosen by The Barnett Group’s in-house artist and designer and many more handful of hands just to get the office done.
