AEP Networks opens new office in Singapore

AEP Networks opens new office in Singapore

Move to bring company physically closer to its customers and enable company to provide technical support.

AEP Networks, a leader in secure communications and networking, announced on Monday the opening of its Singapore office at a time when the city-state is increasingly securing their information technology systems.

The new AEP Marketing Pte Ltd is tasked with developing new business opportunities while offering a local point of contact and providing the closest and best commercial and technical support to existing partners and customers in the business and government sectors, according to an AEP Networks report.

The new office announcement was held at the British High Commissioner’s residence at Eden Hall, Nassim Road, during a cocktail reception attended by industry leaders and customers.

“We are pleased to support the expansion of AEP Networks into Singapore and Asia in general. As a leading IT security and encryption provider they have strong links to the UK where they employ over 150 people. Their products meet stringent UK standards. As companies shift from paper comfort to electronic security, the trusted and high quality service provided by AEP becomes even more important. I wish AEP Networks well as they expand into the Asian and Singaporean markets,” says His Excellency, Mr. Paul Madden, the British High Commissioner.

Lutfi Talib, Chief Executive Officer of Singapore office, will head up the local team. With more than 20 years' experience working in the IT industry, Talib has an MBA from Middlesex University and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Accountants [FCCA) and a Certified Public Accountant [CPA] in Singapore and Australia.

“Establishing a Singapore office reflects our strong commitment in providing our clients and partners with timely account management and know-how technical support in an efficient manner. This will bring AEP Networks physically closer to its customers and enable the company to provide not only technical support but tailored advice on how to secure their information technology systems,” says Talib.

AEP Networks develops the highest grade security technologies tested and accredited to industry security standards, and its portfolio of products and solutions protecting the integrity of sensitive data are extremely reliable, survivable and resilient.

AEP Networks has been active in Asia Pacific for a number of years and has well-established relationship with a number of important customers from Singapore to Australia.

“Sensitive to the demands of the local environment, we recognize the need for local presence and viable commitment to the region. It is with this and significant mutual opportunity in mind that our initiative in Singapore is launched,” adds Talib.

AEP Networks is headquartered in Somerset, New Jersey, U.S.A. It has additional offices in Asia, Australia, Ascot and Hemel Hempstead, U.K. The company counts Virgin, RBS, Shell, Barclays, MasterCard and New York Metropolitan Authority amongst its 1000 Blue Chip customers.

Worldwide, the company has secured contracts with government organisations, military, police, banks, computer and digital media manufacturers, casino gaming equipment manufacturers, communications providers, Internet infrastructure organisations and universities.

AEP Networks reputation grew further when the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), tasked with securing and stabilising the Internet, built its first DNSSEC deployment test bed in 2007 using a Series K hardware security module (HSM) from AEP Networks.

After evaluating various Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), ICANN opted for AEP Series K Keyper because it provided the highest security level, exceptional support and easy maintenance. AEP Keyper is the only network-attached HSM on the market certified to FIPS 140-2 Level 4, the highest FIPS accreditation.

“The last few years has shown significant growth for AEP Networks worldwide which has further solidified the company's position as a trusted provider of secure networking, encryption, communications and application access solutions. We welcome the opportunity the new Singapore office affords us to work more closely with our existing and potential customers," said Peter van de Geest, Managing Director of AEP Networks (worldwide). "We expect continued growth and a steady demand for our products and services from both the private and public sectors.”
