Keppel Data Centres inks tie-up with NSCC to explore supercomputing

Clients can tap NSCC's high-performance computing resources.

Keppel Data Centres, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Telecommunications & Transportation, has today signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Supercomputing Centre (NSCC).

According to their press release, Keppel Data Centres and NSCC are looking to explore potential collaboration in areas of supercomputing and high performance computing, InfiniBand connectivity, networking and scientific software applications, green technology for data centres, as well as related areas.

CEO of Keppel Data Centres Wong Wai Meng asserted that big data and high performance computing are changing the business landscape.

"With the possibility of integrating our data centres as a supercomputing node, clients colocating with Keppel Data Centres may have the opportunity to tap the NSCC's high performance computing resources," Wong further stated.

Earlier in 2016, Keppel Data Centres grew its data centre footprint with the groundbreaking of its fourth Singapore-based data centre, Keppel Datahub 3. It is planned to be company’s second largest data centre in Singapore after Keppel Digihub, and will be developed to Tier 3, carrier-neutral specifications.
