Share buybacks totalled $13.9m in April

Transaciton volume dipped as results season gained steam.

A total of 5,431,300 shares repurchased by 19 stocks in April, with a total consideration of S$13.9 million, according to data from the SGX.

This follows on from S$68 million of share buybacks in March 2016 and $29 million in share buybacks in April 2015. Over the first four months of 2016, share buybacks totalled $201 million.

The five stocks with the largest considerations in buybacks in the month of April 2016 were Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation, SIA Engineering Company, BreadTalk Group, Nordic Group Limited and Straco Corporation.
