Chart of the Day: Singapore loses to Thailand in number of IPO deals

From 2014 to 2017, 28,142 firms sought listings in Singapore, lower than 38,239 in Thailand.

This chart from Deloitte shows Singapore has the second highest size of companies that sought listings from 2014 to 2017 at 28,142.

This was significantly lower than Thailand's size of 38,239 firms.

Based on Deloitte's data, Singapore's initial public offerings earned $6.56b in 2017 so far.

Meanwhile, Thailand's IPOs raised a whopping $11.53b within the year.

Malaysia also raised notable proceeds of $5.81b, which was led by the listing of Lotte Chemical Titan Holdings Berhad for $3.9b.
