Mystery potential buyer of F&N and APB stake revealed

OCBC Bank and Great Eastern Holdings previously said they were approached with an offer to purchase, and now we know who’s interested.

Singapore-listed Thai Beverage Public Company Limited has issued a statement regarding the potential transaction. The company said it is presently in discussions to explore the possibility of acquiring the shareholdings referred to in the joint announcement by OCBC Bank and Great Eastern Holdings.

The two firms have jointly announced that there is an offer to purchase, among others, their combined stakes in Fraser and Neave, Limited and Asia Pacific Breweries Limited.

Thai Beverage meanwhile clarified that there is no certainty or assurance that definitive agreements will be entered into. The company will make appropriate announcements if and when a material corporate development should occur.
