Chart of the Day: Citizen unemployment rate inches up to 3.5%

Around 67,100 citizens were unemployed.

The unemployment rate in Singapore was unchanged in March 2017 but was higher than a year ago.

According to the latest figures by the Ministry of Manpower, overall unemployment was 2.2% in Q1, with citizen unemployment rate treading up higher to 3.5%. Resident unemployment, on the other hand, was at 3.2%.

For the quarter, an estimated 74,400 residents, including 67,100 Singapore citizens were unemployed.
