Chart of the Day: Home vacancy rate rose to 7.9% in Q2

Almost 7,000 units were completed last quarter.

Singapore's private home vacancy rate rose to 7.9% in the second quarter, according to the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA)'s second quarter real estate statistics.

Vacancy rose from 7.2% at the end of Q1 due to the completion of 6,889 new units, excluding Executive Condominiums, during the quarter.

Prices of private residential properties decreased by 0.9% in Q2, compared to the 1.0% decline in the previous quarter. This was the seventh straight quarter of price decline.
