eBay's cross-border trade from Singapore rose 21%

US and Australian buyers bought mobile phones the most from Singaporean sellers.

eBay Inc. revealed that cross-border trade (CBT) form Singapore is on the rise with a 21% YoY growth.

According to a press release, the top three export destinations from the country are the US, Australia, and the UK.

The fastest growing corridors for cross-border transactions are Japan, which grew 144%, Italy, which grew 109%, and Vietnam, which grew 88%.

Items in the mobile phones and accessories category are the top sellers for products exported to the US and Australia, which increased by 81% and 303%, respectively.

eBay Singapore and Malaysia country manager Wong Mei Inn said, "With Singapore’s challenging local retail landscape, the continued growth in cross-border transactions offers opportunities for local sellers to continuously expand their reach and tap on global purchase trends."

A majority, or 92%, of buyers from the UK bought more home improvement products from Singapore sellers.

eBay said it currently has 168 million active users worldwide and has 1.1 billion listings at any given time.
