SingTel clinches Carling Cup

SingTel clinches Carling Cup

Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) announced Friday its mio TV has clinched exclusive broadcast rights to the 2009-2010 Carling Cup Final.

Subscribers will be able to watch the championship game on February 28 at Wembley Stadium, where defending champions Manchester United will go head to head with Aston Villa for a chance to lift the cup.

Current Football Frenzy subscribers and those who purchased BPL early bird offer will be able to watch the matches at no charge on Channel 61.

"We are very pleased to be bringing the thrills and excitement of two of the best teams competing for the Carling Cup title to our viewers," said Tim Carmichael, VP for mio TV.

"If the semi-finals were anything to go by, the finals should prove to be an exhilarating fight to the finish. Having recently extended our BPL early bird offer, this gives fans yet another reason to sign up early and enjoy the many benefits," he added.

The 2009-2010 Carling Cup Final will be broadcast on Football Frenzy (Channel 61) at 11pm. As a lead-up to the Final, mio TV will also broadcast both legs of the Semi-Finals on Football Frenzy.

mio TV is the digital pay TV service of SingTel with over 60 channels, including video-on-demand titles and high definition content.
