StarHub's broadband revenue dips 2.9% to $52.8m
It fell for the first time in two years.
For the first time in two years, StarHub's broadband segment reported a decrease in revenue, falling 2.9% to $52.8m in the past quarter compared to last year.
According to CIMB analyst Foong Choong Chen, this is the third consecutive QoQ decline, down 1.7%.
This pulled the average revenue per user (ARPU) down by 2.7% YoY to $36 whilst subscribers continued to trend downwards, falling 3,000 (-0.6%).
The analyst noted that the only bright spot is the fixed enterprise revenue, whose revenue rose mildly by 0.6% to $99.2m.
To recall, the second quarter of the year was particularly dismal for StarHub after it reported a 21% decline in profits to $85.7m.
According to the group, its service revenue decreased by 2% in the quarter to $1.8b, due to the decline in the turnouts of its mobile, broadband, and PayTV segments.
