COE prices closed lower in latest bidding exercise

Category B vehicles saw the biggest premium decline of $3,822 to $35,906.

Certificate of entitlement (COE) premiums closed lower in the latest bidding exercise, an announcement revealed.

Premiums for Category B vehicles, which are larger and more powerful, saw the largest dip of $3,822 from the last bidding exercise to $35,906. A total of 1,418 bids were reported.

Category A, or cars up to 1600cc and 130bhp, saw a decline of $3,010 with premiums closing at $26,999 from $30,009 earlier in June. That said, it received the highest amount of bids at 1,742.

COEs for commercial vehicles and buses under Category C saw a $1 drop in premiums, slipping to $25,501 in the last bidding exercise.

Motorcycle COEs closed at $3,000, down from $3,090 in the last exercise.

Meanwhile, prices for open category COEs which can be used for any vehicle type declined $2,602 to $39,400.

A total of 5,490 bids were received in the latest bidding exercise.
