ComfortDelGro partners with Finnish mobility firm for multi-modal transport app
Users can opt for pay-as-you-go or a subscription plan for payments.
ComfortDelGro (CDG) teamed up with Finnish mobility firm MaaS Global for its soon-to-be-launched app called Whim which will allow commuters instant access to a variety of transport services in Singapore.
The app will let users choose the pay-as-you-go option or opt for the subscription plan where they will not need to worry about ticketing and payments.
“ComfortDelGro Taxi will provide WHIM users with the taxi option of their journey,” CDG explained. “They can transit from a train or bus and choose to end off with a bicycle if they wish to.”
The WHIM service will kick off its trial in Singapore soon as commercial launch expected in Q1 2019. CDG will announce further details of the pricing plans as the launch date draws closer.
“The integration of various forms of transport services into a single mobility application provides a seamless digital offering for our customers to enhance their travel experience,” CDG CEO for Singapore taxi business Ang Wei Neng said.
WHIM is already working for commuters in Finland, Belgium, Netherlands and the UK. To date, it has about 60,000 active users and 1.85 million trips made.
