Expect delayed travel times when taking Circle Line, says LTA

Signal interference problems continue to nag commuters.

Commuters are once again on the bitter end of delays along the circle line due to signal interference problems on the Circle Line.

According to a press release by the Land Transport Authority, commuters may potentially experience delays along the Circle Line today and are advised to factor in extra travel time to get to appointments on time.

“As a precautionary measure, SMRT’s Operations Control Centre is being manned closely and additional staffing have been deployed on board trains for expeditious service recovery,” the release noted.

Meanwhile, the LTA said it is working with a team of experts from train manufacturer Alstom to take on the recent spate of signalling problems.

“More staff will also be deployed at stations to re-direct passengers, in the event that additional assistance is needed by those seeking alternative travel options,” the press release said.
