Premium for small cars soar $831 to $53,334

Motorcyle premium also increased.

At the end of the August 2016 second COE open bidding, premium for small cars rose 1.58% or $831 to $53,334, a total reverse of the price decline two weeks ago.

Live bidding results showed Category A vehicles received the highest number of bids with a total of 2,803, above quota of 2,034.

Motorcyle premium had the largest increase 2.35% to $6,352.

Premium for the rest of the categories dipped with Category B vehicles recording the biggest slip 2.42% to $56,500. Goods vehicles and bus premium went down further 0.62% to $48,001, while COE price for the open category slid 2.14% to $56,956.
