OKP Holdings clinches $18m drainage improvement contract

The deal boosts its order book to $394.8m.

The utilities company has secured a big fish contract for the improvement of the drainage system along Lorong 22 to 44, Geylang, from PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency.

According to a press release by OKP, under the 30-month contract, its subsidiary, Eng Lam, will be upgrading drains and culverts along the above-mentioned Geylang areas.
Oh Toh Wat, group managing director of OKP said the contract marks the company’s fourth win this 2016.

“Over the medium-term, given the sustained pipeline of public infrastructure projects in Singapore, we expect the industry outlook to be optimistic and that demand for civil engineering expertise will continue,” he said.

Earlier in June 2016, the press release said Eng Lam was awarded two contracts worth S$54.7 million by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) for road resurfacing works along seven major expressways.

“With these latest contracts, the total value of contracts secured in 2016 amounted to S$82.5 million and boosted the net construction order book to S$394.8 million, with contracts extending to 2019,” it added.
