IE Singapore and PPPA will identify urban development and energy projects that firms can join in.
The International Enterprise (IE) Singapore signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Public Private Partnership Authority (PPPA) to facilitate the direct participation of Singapore companies in PPP infrastructure projects in Bangladesh.
Under the MOU, IE Singapore and PPPA will collaborate to identify PPP projects across urban development, ports, airports, power and energy that suitable Singapore firms can take part in.
“As a growing economy, there are many specific opportunities in selected sectors, particularly in infrastructure, transport and energy, which aligns well with the strengths of our companies. These MOUs provide a good platform for Singapore companies to enter the market more easily and participate in the growth journey of the country,” said Tan Soon Kim, assistant CEO of IE Singapore, in a press release.
Singapore is the fourth largest investor in Bangladesh with net cumulative investments of about $1.2b.
