Yongnam bags North-South corridor contract for $554m

It will build vehicle tunnels and a new facility starting Q2.

A $553.8m contract for North-South Corridor infrastructure was awarded to a joint venture between Yongnam Holdings and CIMIC's Leighton Asia. The construction of the half-billion project is set to start by the second quarter of 2018.

The project includes vehicular tunnels, underpinning of an existing expressway flyover, and a new facility building as well as entrance and exit ramps. It is expected to be completed by 2026.

“The Group will continue to actively participate in bidding for various major public sector infrastructure projects in Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Malaysia and the Middle East to strengthen our order book,” Yongnam CEO Seow Soon Yong said.

The infrastructure project is geared to be Singapore’s first integrated transport corridor to connect towns in the northern region to the city centre.
