Charisma Energy, Sunseap clinch 140MW solar farm deal in India
It’s the largest Indian project for a Singapore company.
The energy companies have inked a monumental deal in India as they secure the solar fam tender to develop a 140MW solar photovoltaic farm in Rajasthan.
According to a press release by Charisma Energy Services, the award is part of a 420MW solar farm development in Bhadla Solar Park in Rajasthan.
“The deal is entered into with the National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), an Indian state-owned company that provides the grounds for establishing the 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA),” the press release said.
Jinsi Lee, head of international markets at Sunseap, says India would be an exciting market as it is possible to achieve tariff prices for solar which can rival that of fossil fuels.
