Etiqa Insurance appoints new CEO

Raymond Ong will succeed its now retired ex-CEO who served for 14 years.

Etiqa Insurance Singapore has designated Raymond Ong Eng Siew as its new chief executive officer (CEO) with effect from 16 October.

His new role will report to Kamaludin Ahmad, the CEO of Maybank Ageas Holdings Bhd, the holding company of Etiqa Singapore. Ong will succeed interim CEO Yip Kim Chee, who took over from Sue Chi Kong from July 31.

The Singaporean expert is currently the group chief risk officer of Great Eastern Life Assurance. He is in charge of all aspects of risk management and compliance including financial, operational and technology risk management, as well as regulatory compliance and market conduct.

He is previously the CFO for its Malaysian chapter and chief actuary for its branch in Chongqing, China. He started his career with the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
