ThaiBev joins DJSI's World Index
Thanks to its several sustainability reports.
ThaiBev joined the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) World and Emerging Markets indices after the yearly RobecoSAM Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA).
According to a press release, the company joined the World index after it got perfect scores in almost twice as many areas as they did previously.
The DJSI World Index represents the top 10% of the largest 2,500 companies in the S&P Global BMI.
ThaiBev president and chief executive officer Thapana Sirivadhanabhakdi said, "As ThaiBev strives to be the stable and sustainable ASEAN leader in total beverage business by 2020, we are committed to aligning our vision 2020 with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)."
ThaiBev has reported on sustainability efforts on economic, environmental, social, and cultural dimensions.
In 2016, ThaiBev recorded 12% less water withdrawal per hectolitre of finished goods and recycled 10% of water resources it used.
