Food and shopping are the least among Singaporeans' travelling priorities: survey
They run after adventures and great local experiences.
Singaporeans look forward to interesting local experiences the most when travelling, with about 40% of respondents claiming this as their top to-do when on a holiday trip.
The Travel Content Survey by global travel search engine Skyscanner revealed that Singapore travellers ranked eating (7%) and shopping (8%) low in their to-do list on holidays, while more than 1 in 4 seek adventures and be one with nature during their getaways.
Meanwhile, experiencing destinations as a local (35%) is high on the to-do list for Asia Pacific (APAC) travellers. Debunking popular belief that food and shopping are at the heart of holiday activities, eating and drinking only topped the to-do list for 10% of APAC travellers, while shopping was a priority for a mere 5%.
Surveying over 8,000 respondents across 10 APAC countries, the survey deep dives into the travel content consumption preferences and habits of APAC travellers.
