Hong Leong Asia appoints Hoh Weng Ming as Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Hoh has more than 25 years experience in accounting and financial management positions in Malaysia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and China.

The Board of Hong Leong Asia appointed Mr Hoh Weng Ming as Chief Financial Officer, effective Nov 11. Mr. Hoh is currently the Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) of China Yuchai International Limited, a New York listed subsidiary of the Company, a role which he will relinquish in November 2011 upon his assumption of the position of CFO of the Company. His appointment as the Chief Financial Officer of the Company was recommended by the Nominating Committee and approved by the Board, after taking into consideration his qualifications and his more than 25 years of working experience in accounting and financial management positions with extensive regional experience in Malaysia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and China.

The appointment is an executive position. Mr Hoh will be responsible for all financial matters of the Company which includes financial reporting, strategic financial planning, treasury and internal controls.

Mr Hoh, 50, assumed the role of the Chief Financial Officer of New York-listed China Yuchai International Limited (“CYI”), a subsidiary of the Company, in 2008.

Prior to that, he was the Group Controller of the Industrial Product Group division of Hong Kong-listed Johnson Electric Industrial Manufactory Limited, an industrial electric motor producer from 2005 to 2008.

From 2003 to 2005, Mr Hoh was the Financial Controller of Henan Xinfei Electric Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Company, after serving in a similar position at CYI from 2002 to 2003, according to a Hong Leong Asia report.

Mr Hoh was a Management Consultant from 2001 to 2002.

From 1998 to 2001, Mr Hoh was with the Simplex Group which activities include the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of fire alarms and security systems in Asia, and held the position of Finance Director before his subsequent promotion to the position of Managing Director.
