The Straits Times Index (STI) closed at 5,755.360, up 0.97% on Monday, 31 August, at 5:21 p.m.

DFI Retail Group was the most active stock, followed by UOB (+1.91%) and DBS (+1.64%).

SATS and Seatrium were at the foot.
