TikTok Shop targets 1,000 Singapore sellers with training push

It also aims to support 3,000 creators by 2026.

TikTok Shop will train at least 1,000 local sellers by the end of 2027 as part of new initiatives aimed at strengthening Singapore’s content-led commerce ecosystem.

TikTok Shop Singapore recorded 1.7 times year-on-year growth in gross merchandise value (GMV) and 1.6 times growth in monthly buyers over the past year, as businesses increasingly use content-driven commerce to reach consumers.

The platform will also support more than 3,000 creators by the end of 2026 through programmes designed to build skills and create new income opportunities.

The initiatives include the LIVE Host Academy, which trains aspiring LIVE hosts in hosting and sales skills while connecting them with sellers seeking LIVE selling talent.

The Affiliate Accelerator programme will support creators building affiliate-led businesses through training in LIVE selling and short-form content, whilst the Short Video Programme will help emerging creators improve product storytelling skills through learning resources, creator support, and collaboration opportunities with sellers.

TikTok Shop said LIVE viewership in Singapore has increased 150% year-on-year, creating demand for more creators who can deliver interactive shopping experiences.

The programmes aim to build a pipeline of skilled creators and enable more collaboration between sellers and creators within Singapore’s discovery commerce ecosystem.

The company announced the programmes at the inaugural TikTok Shop Singapore Summit, which brought together more than 1,500 sellers, creators, and ecosystem partners to discuss opportunities in discovery commerce and LIVE selling.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

You're the reader we write for. You're also the person our partners want to reach.

If that sentence describes you — a founder, a C-suite, someone whose attention companies pay good money for — then you already understand why SBR works. We've spent twenty years earning the trust of readers exactly like you. Which is exactly what makes this an interesting place for your company to show up, too.

The ways it can show up are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The right fit depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If your company has something this audience should know about, we'd like to hear what you're working on.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
