MyRepublic and Tata team up for new mobile service offering

Tata will provide service management for MyRepublic’s Boundless Data.

Indian firm Tata Communications partnered with MyRepublic for the expansion of their home broadband to mobile services. Tata’s cloud-based MOVE platform will aid MyRepublic to become a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) without needing any capital investments from MyRepublic’s mobile network infrastructure management.

My Republic’s mobile plan offerings including Boundless Data is powered by Tata’s core network offering and end to end service management which includes billing. Boundless Data allows data package continuity with reduced speeds and optional full speed booster packs at no additional cost for customers even after their data limit has been reached.

The API-enabled, cloud-based and fully automated MOVE platform is integrated with MyRepublic’s business processes, making operations easier for service activation, launching of new innovative services, new billing plans, special promotions, and value-added services.

“As a platform company ourselves, the software-defined capabilities of Tata Communications MOVEwas not just aligned with our operational philosophy, but also enabled us to introduce our mobile services in an agile, cost-effective, and scalable manner,” MyRepublic CEO Malcolm Rodrigues said.

MyRepublic targets to capitalise on the growth of MVNO market which is expected to reach US$75.25b in the next five years by becoming Singapore’s first cloud-based MVNO through MOVE. Its new mobile services are now available in Singapore, with plans to launch in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia and other countries.
