ACCA Singapore signs MoUs with NTUC’s e2i and Junior Achievement Singapore to prepare for the future of work and the green economy

Singapore, 16 October 2025 – ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) has signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), each with NTUC’s Employment and Employability Institute (e2i) and Junior Achievement (JA) Singapore, with the aim to enhance the employability of Professionals in accountancy and tax, as well as to expose tertiary students to the fundamentals of ESG. The agreements reinforce ACCA’s commitment to developing a future-ready, sustainable workforce and inspiring the next generation of finance professionals.

The MoU signing took place during ACCA Singapore’s Annual Conference, themed “Navigating Permanence in Disruption: The Future of Trade, Talent and Transformation”. Over 200 finance leaders, policymakers, and business professionals gathered to discuss how organisations can thrive in a world defined by constant disruption, with key sessions focused on sustainability, digital transformation, and the need for workforce evolution.

The partnership with NTUC’s e2i will explore initiatives to upskill and reskill Singapore’s accountancy and tax workforce. These efforts will enhance employability and career advancement, boost workforce productivity, and support recruitment- both in the accountancy and tax sectors as well as across various other industries. This collaboration aims to position accountancy and tax as attractive and rewarding career paths for professionals.

“We are pleased to be part of this collaboration to uplift the accountancy profession and create new opportunities. Together, we can help shape jobs and skills so that accountants are well-positioned to leverage their financial expertise with data analytics and innovation. This enables them to continue contributing meaningfully across industries," said Caryn Lim, CEO, e2i.

The second MoU, signed between ACCA and Junior Achievement Singapore, marks a significant step in advancing sustainability education among younger learners. Both organisations will co-develop a programme to introduce tertiary students to the fundamentals of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, equipping them with an understanding of how sustainability, ethics, and governance shape Singapore’s future economy. It aims to nurture a pipeline of responsible future leaders by helping students connect sustainability to national goals such as the Singapore Green Plan 2030 and the Ministry of Education’s Eco Stewardship Programme (ESP).

“Young people today are not just future employees, they are future decision-makers,” said Ng Hau Yee, Executive Director, Junior Achievement (JA) Singapore. “Our partnership with ACCA will provide students with the tools to understand sustainability as more than a concept. By linking ESG to real-world issues and the national agenda, we hope to inspire a generation that leads with purpose, ethics, and a deep sense of responsibility to their communities.”

“ACCA has always been driven by our purpose, to be a force for public good,” said Daniel Leung, Country Manager, ACCA Singapore. “These partnerships with e2i and Junior Achievement embody that mission by creating opportunities for continuous learning across generations in upskilling and reskilling for the future economy. By working together, we’re strengthening the accountancy profession’s role in driving sustainable growth and preparing Singapore’s workforce for the challenges and possibilities ahead.”
