Olam to invest US$183m in Gabon

Olam intends to develop 28,000 hectares of rubber plantations in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Gabon.

Olam will hold an 80% interest in the joint venture company, and the remaining 20% will be held by RoG.

The 28,000 hectares of rubber plantations will be in Gabon in Phase I. Based on the progress in Phase I, the JV plans to develop an additional 22,000 hectares in Phase II taking the total plantings to 50,000 hectares.
