De Rigo Hong Kong Limited bags Asian Export Award for luxury

Its Chopard Cannes Model - SCHC68 celebrates the iconic Cannes Film Festival whilst epitomising the excellence of the Swiss fine jewellery Maison.

Singapore Business Review and Hong Kong Business magazines acknowledged Asia's leading export companies and their trailblazing products and services in the recently concluded Asian
Export Awards 2018.

On its inaugural year, the Asian Export Awards lauds exceptional products and services that have remarkably enhanced a company's business in the regional export scene.

This pinnacle event for Asia's best exporters is open to two divisions—the large corporate for big companies with group turnover of over $300m and the local champion for small or medium-sized enterprises.

De Rigo Hong Kong Limited clinched the Asian Export Award for luxury under the large corporate category.

To celebrate the Cannes Film Festival, the company crafted a luxury special edition eyewear model for renowned Swiss fine jewelry Maison Chopard.

“We are honored, of course, about getting the award. It is a good result for us,” said Mr. Vittorio Trusso, Managing Director, De Rigo Asia Pacific.

Chopard has partnered with the esteemed film festival since 1988, annually producing Palme d’or, which honors the best film of the festival. It has also produced smaller trophies for the Best
Actor and Best Actress awards.

De Rigo Hong Kong Limited also showcases its annual Red Carpet Collection of high jewelry on the Cannes red carpet.

The company's Chopard Cannes Model - SCHC68 is a real doorway to luxury, with a 23 karat-plated frame that features a rounded oversized front piece.

It is given a chic and unique look by a side spoiler reproducing a lace pattern, which was created by true “eyewear jewellers” with production processes typically used to make jewellery
and watches. Its quality and innovation also characterise the lenses with a mirror-like gold flash.

“It is tailor-made for the Cannes Festival, studied and created for the special jewelry collection Chopard Presents on Cannes Festival red carpet,” Trusso said.

“We determine the collection usually under maximum high quality materials. We use more precious stones and better type of material like gold-plating,” he explained.

Compared to De Rigo's regular collection, the SCHC68 is sold at a double price, thanks to its limited edition status as well as it's various unique qualities and special materials.

Targeting new millionaire millennials across the Asia Pacific, the Cannes model perfectly balances design and fashionable stills. The product is available in two colors—yellow gold and
pink gold. It has received good reception in the market, enabling an increase in De Rigo's sales due to its visibility.

“It is very successful after [the] last collection,” Trusso said. “We've been able also to increase our sales in the regular collection of Chopard, so the results was really above our expectations.”

The versatile company prides itself in crafting its luxury products in-house, allowing it to put special attention to their products and tailor-make them according to the market's needs.

“De Rigo is one unique company in the world because we are covering many target segments. We go from entry price point to luxury. We are able to do that because we are still a Familiar company, so we really put our specialty in products” Trusso said.

De Rigo Hong Kong Limited is on its course to an action plan to get the eyewear model into the most important window shops in Asia. It will also be releasing a new collection in March to its direct auxiliaries and distribution networks in over 80 countries.
