Household gas tariff raised in Q3

Town gas tariff set at 23.42 cents per kWh

Gas tariffs for households have been increased by 0.30 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) in the third quarter due to rising costs.

City Energy has raised the town gas tariff from 23.12 cents per kWh to 23.42 cents per kWh starting today, 1 July 2024 to 30 September 2024. With the 9% GST, the tariff increases to 25.53 cents per kWh.

Bulk Tariff A, for those with minimum monthly consumption of 1,000 kWh, increased to 22.21 cents per kWh, while Bulk Tariff B for those with monthly use of at least 50,000 kWh was raised to 21.61cents per kWh.

City Energy is Singapore’s sole producer of town gas, which is mainly used by residential and commercial customers for cooking and heating purposes.

City Energy reviews gas tariffs based on guidelines set by the Energy Market Authority.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
