Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. has agreed with the government of Singapore to jointly support Japanese companies planning to do business in the city state.

The alliance between SMBC and the Singapore Economic Development Board is aimed at luring Japanese companies, mainly manufacturers of precision instruments and other value-added products, to Singapore.
